Women with mature skin should try to stay away from makeup
with shimmer. The small shimmer
particles can collect in fine lines and draw attention to those areas.
Use a matte eye shadow and blush instead.
Application
-
Apply one coat of black mascara.
- Use
eyeliner
to make a thin line as close to the eyelashes as possible on
both top and bottom or just the top. Do not put eyeliner on bottom lash line without putting it on
top as well.
-
Apply a highlighter eye shadow (light) color to the entire eyelid.
(Remember, use a matte eye shadow; one that doesn't have a shimmer.)
- Apply an accent eye shadow color beginning at the outer corner of the eye and blend inward. Keep this color on the
crease of the eyelid and below and allow the lighter shade to show through
as you get closer to the inside corner of the eye.
- Use
concealer
to cover any redness, dark circles or age spots.
- Apply a foundation
shade that is as close to the color of the neck
as possible. It may be
necessary to have a different shade for summer and winter.
Be sure to blend the foundation well around the border of the face
and jaw so there is not a foundation line.
- Use
blush
by placing the brush
on the cheek bone starting at the hairline and pull inward following the cheek bone and lifting the brush off over the apples of
the cheeks.
- Use a lip liner that closely matches the lipstick or lip gloss that will be worn and line the lips.
Do not line outside the natural lip line.
- After
lining, fill in lips with the lip liner so the lip color lasts
longer.
- Apply lipstick to all of the lips.
- For
longer lasting lip color or to lighten or darken the lipstick shade, apply
lip gloss over the lipstick.
